Regarding placing of ads

I have placed an ad, but I can't find it on Hybel.no. Why not?

All ads must be activated before they are made visible. After you have added pictures, you will be presented with a preview of your ad. At the top left of this screen, there is a link for activation of your ad. You may alse activate (and stop) from my ads.

I do not receive any respone for my ads

Turnover on Hybel.no is normally quite high, and unless your ad is especially expensive or unfavourable, you should expect to receive several responses. If you have not received any response at all, make sure that your emailaddress is correct and that your ad has been activated.

I have found tenant for my apartment, how do I delete my ad?

You can stop and delete your ads by visiting my ads. Hybel.no automatically stores all your ads, so that you may easily reactivate them later. An ad that has been stopped will not be shown to other users of Hybel.no. To delete an ad, you first have to stop it.

Regarding payment

How much does it cost to place ads on Hybel.no?

Beginning 01.01.2009, Hybel.no is completely free of charge!

Regarding contact requests

Why are contact requests I send delivered to my mailbox?

We send a copy of all contact requests to the sender. We do this to ensure that the senders can keep track of their communication. Also, this enables us to identify attempts of fraud related to falsified email addresses. These emails are marked with [copy] in the subject field.

All messages are also sent to the owner of the ad.

I have received an email which I suspect is fraudulent, what do I do?

There are unfortunately always someone who will try to take advantage of others. If you suspect that a request has bad intentions, we would greatly appreciate it if you notify us, so that we can help you to assess the whether it actually is fraudulent, and also to allow us to initiate counter measures. Contact us at kontakt@hybel.no.

I have received an email with an offensive message. What do I do?

If you receive request that are uncomfortable, either threatening, offensive or rude, please forward the request to us. This allows us to identify people who abuse the system, and block their access to system. kontakt@hybel.no.

Regarding rental terms

Be aware of the following suspicious terms when responding to an ad:

  • The landlord demands prepayment or “deposit” directly to his or her account.
  • The landlord “is unable” to hold showings, demanding the tenant to accept the apartment unseen.
  • The landlord requires money to be transferred abroad.
  • The apartment is offered at a very low rent.

If you see an ad you suspect to be fraudulent, please contact us at kontakt@hybel.no, and we will help you assess the ad, and if necessary stop it.

Other issues?

How come Firefox won't display any images?

Some users of adblock-plugins for Firefox may experience that images on Hybel.no are blocked. Disable the plugin for Hybel.no to remedy the issue.
